To take a screenshot on a Windows computer, there are several methods you can use:
- Press the “Print Screen” key (sometimes abbreviated as “PrtScn” or “PrtSc”) on your keyboard. This will capture an image of your entire screen and copy it to the clipboard. You can then paste the screenshot into an image editing program or document.
- Press the “Windows Key + Print Screen” key combination. This will capture an image of your entire screen and automatically save it to your computer in the “Pictures” folder in a subfolder named “Screenshots”.
- Press the “Alt + Print Screen” key combination. This will capture an image of only the active window and copy it to the clipboard. You can then paste the screenshot into an image editing program or document.
- Use the built-in Snipping Tool. This is a program that comes pre-installed with Windows and allows you to capture a custom-shaped or rectangular area of your screen. To use it, open the Snipping Tool and select the area you want to capture, then save or copy the screenshot as desired.
- Use the Windows Snip & Sketch app. This is a newer screenshot tool that is available in Windows 10. It allows you to capture a custom-shaped or rectangular area of your screen, as well as add annotations and save or share the screenshot. You can open it by searching for “Snip & Sketch” in the Windows search bar.
